Douglas Swan
1930–2000
Painter, born in New Britain, Connecticut, America, who was educated at Arbroath High School. He attended Dundee College of Art, where his teachers included the landscape painter James McIntosh Patrick and Hugh Adam Crawford; then was at Patrick Allan-Fraser School of Art, Hospitalfield, Arbroath, under Ian Fleming; and finally in London with William Scott.
