Austin Andrew Wright
1911–1997
Sculptor and teacher, born in Chester, but brought up in Cardiff, moving to Yorkshire in 1937. Wright read for a degree in modern languages at Oxford University and trained as a teacher before he became interested in modern art, the paintings of Cézanne and sculpture of Henry Moore.
