Stephen Makepeace ('Siegfried') Wiens
1871–1956
The artist’s father and mother were German. According to an article in the Westminster Gazette (January 12 1917) relating to a war tribunal in which Wiens was involved in on behalf of an employee, his father moved to England in the early 1860s and was naturalised as an English citizen in 1889.
