Inscription description
plinth: The Sea Swallow / Down in Lune Deep / Far below the sea / Something sparkles / Like sunken treasure. / A strange boy is watching / But steals away in a flash / As the Sea-Ogre stirs / And our story begins; plinth: For at night they stand together on/ the sea wall, as if protecting / the town with their great white wings; around base of plinth: Nobody knows when Mary left the Golden Shell - most folk think she gave it to Finn, but others say it lies buried on the beach, maybe. Somewhere along the coast, the shell waits for someone to find it again.
