Stephen Broadbent (b.1961)
Sculptor, born in Wroughton, Wiltshire, who trained with the sculptor Arthur Dooley in Liverpool, 1979–83, having a first solo exhibition at Aberbach Gallery, London, 1982. Among Broadbent’s public commissions were the stylised figurative cast-iron Reconciliation, in Concert Street, Liverpool, 1990 (copies stand in Belfast and Glasgow); bronze relief panels The Trades and Professions of Edinburgh, Saltire Court, Edinburgh, 1991; and the bronze Challenge, outside Capital House, Chester, 1993. Broadbent was based for some time in Liverpool.
