Describing the procedure, Julia Midgley writes: 'Dr Saltissi, a tall man of Latin appearance, wears a metal headband, large lead apron, and collar; the team are similarly dressed, lending a rather surreal quality to the scene. ... Dr Saltissi, Consultant cardiologist, is seen carrying out a coronary angiogram. This is a complex and invasive procedure allowing X-ray assessment of the coronary arteries in order to decide whether a heart operation is required. Dr Saltissi is seen inserting a plastic catheter into the patient whilst observing the ECG and heart pressures on monitors above the patient, Radiographers are on-looking in order to control the large C-shaped X-ray equipment ... In the meantime, the patient lies relaxed and still, keeping his arms out of the way of the X-ray equipment'.
