An archway with cut-outs showing the types of metal product that were once manufactured in the area: train wheels, buffer stops, railway signals, and fencing. Its welded and bolted steel form was also intended to reflect the methods of railway engineering. The hanging chains that flank the arch refer to the former practice of drawing chains through the adjacent wall to close the road to traffic when trains passed. The holes have been retained as heritage features and are marked by plaques.
