The bronze statue of Scottish poet Robert Burns is positioned on a pedestal of white Kemnay granite. The daisy held by the national bard in his left hand recalls his popular poem ‛To a Mountain Daisy’. The poet was inspired to write the poem while ploughing a field in April 1786, personally identifying with the crushed daisy’s fate and despairingly reflecting on his own circumstances at the time.
