Robert Wright Stewart was an Edinburgh-based artist, who showed work in Scotland and London from 1905 to the 1940s.

Sadly, we know nothing about this slightly nervous looking little girl, although judging by the look of her hairstyle and dress, the painting dates from the 1920s or early 1930s.
