This sculpture of a crouching girl was started in 1943 and completed in 1952. This is believed to be one of only two bronze casts made (the original alabaster sculpture, dated 1943, is in the Manzù collection in Ardea, Italy). Bristol Museum & Art Gallery also owns a charcoal study for this work (K2337).
