This statue symbolises the Pacific Ocean. It originally was installed on the lower terrace of the Crystal Palace. It was joined by three other figures representing the Arctic, Indian, and Atlantic Oceans, and across from another set of statues to represent the Rivers Ganges, Amazon, Nile and the Thames. The statue representing the Ganges is situated by a small lake on Casterbridge Road in Blackheath.
