'Orville' was bred by Earl Fitzwilliam and won the St Leger in 1802. In 1804 he won a 4 mile race and a 2 mile race on the same day. He was sold to HRH The Prince of Wales. He won 17 more races before retiring at the age of 12. He won £13,490.00 over his career. He stood at Mr Kirby’s stud in Walmgate covering 50 mares a year at 20 guineas each.
