Two large gates which offer an entrance to the earthwork which comprises mainly stone covered in earth formed into a valley. In celebration of the millennium year, Greenfield Valley appointed six artists to create a sculpture trail within the park.

The scheme was funded by the Millennium Festival Commission and supported by the Greenfield Valley Trust and various sponsors. Each of the residencies involved workshop sessions with school and/or community groups. The work is part of the Millennium Sculpture Trail at Greenfield Valley Heritage Park.

The gates were once situated at the Grosvenor Chater Paper Works. The earthwork refers to the valley once being used as an industrial site, now being used as a place for nature and pleasure; and also refers to the gates once being used as an entrance to a factory, now being used within a sculpture.
