After the painting by Morland (c.1791; according to information in the British Museum records for Keating's print after this painting, Nurse and Children in the Fields was a companion picture to Morland's earlier work, The Kite Entangled, after which a mezzotint was engraved by William Ward and published by J. R. Smith, June 19, 1790). A nurse wearing a mob cap is seated in profile facing right, receiving wild flowers offered up by a young girl seated at the centre and a boy seated on the ground in the left foreground. A third child, an older girl, stands and watches on the right. A large tree in the background, the boy's hat upturned on the ground at lower centre.
