On a square plinth a standing, moustached man, looking down to his left, holding his cap in his left hand, his pick and long-handled shovel held over his right shoulder, a suitcase between his feet, all upon a square-plan pedestal. On a public bench by the side of the road is another suitcase, a toolbox and a violin case.
