A night time scene. A group of women and girls are spilling out of an open front door. The middle-aged woman at the front is holding a candle. A younger woman stands to her right and the girls are behind her and the older woman. They are all wearing frightened or curious facial expression. A staircase can be seen inside the house. A middle-aged man with a flat hat and glasses, Mr Pickwick, is hiding behind the open door to the right. A garden roller is partly visible next to him. On the other side, next to the young woman, stands a flower pot. The Dalziel Brothers\' signature is in the lower left corner.
