In James Trollope's 2022 monograph on the artist, this painting is identified as 'Montaignes et Orangiers, Collioure'. It was exhibited at the Salle Arago in 1934. The mountain in the distance is Pic de Canigou, at 2785 metres, the highest in this part of the Pyrenees.
