Martyn Johnson was an Attorney at Law and was baptised in Sutterton, Lincolnshire in 1589. He married three times, sadly losing his first two wives in childbirth. His third marriage was to Jane Lynn and they had many children. He did not live at Ayscoughfee Hall, which at the time was owned by a different family. He was buried in Spalding on 29th January 1651.
