A stone base surmounted by a rough-hewn block plinth, pedestal, and rough-hewn stone slab against which is placed a figure of a Highland soldier. The figure stands, bare headed, in mourning pose with arms reversed and there is an inscription in raised lettering on the front of the plinth. The Clan Macrae badge is carved in relief at the top of the pedestal. The memorial is enclosed by a wooden post and chain fence.
