In the foreground is the Riffelhorn and beyond a view to several 4,000-metre peaks in the area around Zermatt (Switzerland): Lyskamm, Castor, Pollux and the Breithorn, from left to right. The glacier flowing down has now receded up the valley since this watercolour was painted.
