The west front of St Paul's Cathedral seen from Ludgate Hill, with an omnibus approaching on the right. This painting, 'Across the River, St Paul's' and 'St Mary-le-Strand' may date from 1919. Garstin spent most of his working life as the father of the Newlyn School. He settled in Newlyn in 1886 but made frequent visits to London.
