In left and right foreground are rocks. Beyond the rocks, at centre, is a pool with square artificially-constructed sides. To left and on the far side of the pool are five women, standing, bending and kneeling to wash laundry. Each woman wears a white headscarf and a long dress, and many appear to be wearing aprons. The women bend to square openings in the flat surface of the ground beside the pool. Some of the openings have hatches which have been raised. A tub stands between two of the openings on the far side of the pool. The wall of a structure is visible to left of the pool. Other partial walls (not of structures) are behind the pool, and these walls have white laundry draped over them. Behind the walls are washing lines with laundry hanging from them.
