John Gibson was introduced to Kemble through Solomon d’Anguiler of Liverpool some time before 1817, when Gibson left Liverpool for London. Kemble 'sat to him for a small bust, the only one ever taken of the actor.' (from 'The Life of John Gibson', edited by Lady Eastlake)
