A life-size figure of John Henry Vivian, Welsh industrialist and politician of Cornish extraction, depicted wearing a frock coat and topcoat, holding a small book in his left hand and papers in his right hand. On the back of the statue is a coat of arms. It is on a stepped granite plinth and tall pedestal with moulded base and cornice. It was originally located in centre of courtyard at the Old Guildhall. The work was relocated to its present position in 1985.
