Le Rât is a fine example of local vernacular architecture of the sixteenth or early seventeenth century, which remains largely unaltered. This granite house is of three bays and two storeys and although originally thatched, is now roofed with English pantiles of eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century origin. The property was purchased by the Trust in 1937 for £200.
