This is the third in a series of three paintings. The first is 'The Slaying of Snilloc', in which Mij and Snilloc are locked in a duel. The second is 'The Transformation of Snilloc', in which Snilloc lies on the ground transforming, while Mij stands on a headland celebrating his victory. 'I had a Dream' is the third, in which Mij lies down under a serpentreebird and has a dream, after descending the headland. The first two paintings are still in the artist's possession.
