A monkey figure and snake, depicting one of the adventures of Hanuman (Hanoman), the monkey warrior, during his search for Sita (Sinta), the wife of prince Rama. Hanuman is one of the figures from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana, which tells the story of the battle between the god Visnu (Wisnu) and the demon Ravana (Rawana). He can be distinguished by his facial hair, long fangs, long tail and elaborate headdress. Hanuman and the snake (naga) are shown mid-battle. Hanuman is standing above the snake which has one of his legs in its mouth. Both figures stand on a wooden base.
