The gate to the entrance of Gray’s Close, leading to Gardyne’s Land, Dundee’s oldest townhouse, c.1560. The abstract design is inspired by the history of Gardyne’s Land and the people who once lived and worked there including merchants, printers, a watchmaker, a mariner and even an Olympic gymnast. Representing these, elements include clock hands, bagpipe drones, abacus and large Olympic rings.
