Architectural features reclaimed from the former Maternity Unit of the old Chesterfield Royal Hospital, which previously stood on the site have been incorporated into a gazebo and courtyard, providing a sheltered seating area in the centre of the horseshoe-shaped development. The structure includes cast-stone columns, pilasters and lintels, decorative wrought-iron hand-railings, and bricks from the old Maternity Unit. At the rear of the gazebo, a retaining wall of iron railings encloses a decorative stone crest from the pediment of the Maternity Unit.
