The two sets of gates are set side by side at the entrance to St Clement’s Park. They are decorated with brightly painted poppies, poppy heads, daffodils and bullrushes, with amusing small animals on the leaves, conveniently placed for children – a mouse, worm, tiny butterfly and snail, two spiders. The inventive approach is typical of Nigel Barnett's work and the choice of flowers and decoration echoes the theme of the eco-park.
