A ten-metres long work on calico made with red, green, blue and black ink depicting hundreds of female faces amongst architectural geometric patterns resembling chequerboards, tiling and staircases. Some faces are attached to clothing with textiles resembling furs and elaborate dress-making. Textiles and patterning merge together giving the impression of the faces floating. This work was exhibited both internationally and significantly at the Hayward Gallery exhibition ‘Outsiders: Artists Without Precedent or Tradition’ in 1979, by Victor Musgrave and Roger Cardinal.
