This is a head and shoulders portrait of an unknown gentleman, facing to his left. He wears a black gown and a plain white cravat or flat collar.

He is believed to have been the Chaplain of the Company during the Commonwealth.

There is evidence to suggest that this portrait may have areas of overpainting. This can be seen around the hair and patches of red paint appearing underneath the black gown.
