This is a stunning portrayal of Buchaille Etive Mhor, one of the iconic mountains of Glen Coe. The style is very realistic, almost photographic in its detail. The quality of light in the painting imparts the awesome nature of the mountain. Buchaille Etive Mhor is one of Scotland's most popular and scenic mountains.

The artist, Reinhard Behrens, came to Scotland in 1979 and has lectured at all four Scottish art colleges and was the president of the Society of Scottish Artists between 1989 and 1992.
