Paul moved to the isles of Shetland in 1997 and immediately became entranced by the changing light, the wild landscapes and the ocean. He also moved away from the shapes and stories of his Black Country home, to a freer, more colourful painterly style. Aith, Mainland Shetland, is home to the most northerly lifeboat station in Britain.
