Painter and printmaker, born in Dudley, Worcestershire, whose work could have a strong imaginative quality, using an unusual, rich palette, as in his oil Voices, at Royal Over-Seas League Open, 1994. He studied at Stourbridge College of Art, Nottingham Polytechnic and the Royal Academy Schools. Among prizes won were the Arthur Hacker Prize and Hennington Award, both 1992; Dudley Art Gallery Purchase Prize, 1993 (it and Walsall Art Gallery hold Bloomer’s work); and the John Purcell Print Prize and Joseph Webb ARE Commemorative Fund Award, both 1994. Had a solo show at The Weathered Wall Gallery, Seattle, America, 1993.
