Greg Palmer teaches part-time on the BA Hons Fine Art degree at SSU. Palmer completed a foundation course at Tameside College in 1979, graduated from Portsmouth Polytechnic with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art in 1982 and was awarded an MA in Printmaking in 1991 from Wimbledon School of Art. He has exhibited work widely throughout Britain and Europe and has work in private collections in the UK and abroad. In 1988 he undertook a two-month residency at the Dreigiebelhaus, Duisburg Germany and received the Dane printmaking award in 1990 and the Julian Trevelyan memorial prize in 1991. Greg Palmer has written of his work: "My recent paintings take a variety of forms, some are entirely text-based, some simple and emblematic and others take the form of landscapes with traditional principles of perspective and the dramatic potential of weather conditions and seasonal change.
