Painter and teacher, born in Leicester, where he attended the College of Art, 1940–4, then Royal College of Art. Returned to teach at Harrogate School of Art, where he lived. Exhibited RA, Young Contemporaries, Leicester Galleries, NEAC and widely in Yorkshire. Wakefield City Art Gallery and Museum holds his work.
