Sculptor, draughtsman, printmaker and teacher, born in Stamford, Lincolnshire. She studied at St Martin’s School of Art, 1961–6, in 1964 winning the Walter Neurath Award. Other awards received included the Sainsbury Award in 1966 and Arts Council Award in 1977, the year she won a gold medal in the Listowel Graphics Exhibition. Taylor’s first solo show was in 1966 at Axiom Gallery, and she later exhibited in many group shows and solo at Angela Flowers Gallery, Oliver Dowling Gallery in Dublin and appeared in Hayward Annual at Hayward Gallery in 1978. Taught at Ealing School of Art, 1967–75, and Royal College of Art, 1972–3. Taylor was early on a gardener, which was reflected in her interest in locating sculpture in a natural setting.
