Painter, born in Wales, who attended Deeside College there, 1974–5; Gloucestershire College of Art and Design, Cheltenham, 1975–8; and Belfast College of Art, 1980–1. He was fellow at Artescape Trust in Lincoln, 1983–4; at The Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, America, 1984–5; at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 1988–9; and in 1995 was Momart Fellow at Tate Gallery, Liverpool, where he contributed to Making It with a series of figure paintings with some subtle deformation. Other group shows included Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin, 1983; Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, and The Usher Gallery, Lincoln, both 1984; Christopher Hull Gallery from 1986; and Galerie Wittenbrink, Munich, 1995. Had a regular programme of solo exhibitions in Britain and abroad, latterly including Laurent Delaye from 1994.
