Artist, born in Japan, whose work included Minimalist oils, as in the exhibition Blue at Curwen Gallery in 2000, having shown solo there from 1986. He also had one-man exhibitions at Tamaya Gallery, Ginza, Tokyo, from 1990. After graduating in political science at Meiji University, Tokyo, in 1973, he studied at Byam Shaw Art School of Art, 1977–81, and was visiting artist, Middlesex University, 1997–8. Group shows included Stowells Trophy, RA, 1980; Northern Young Contemporaries, Whitworth Gallery, Manchester, 1981; Odessa Art Gallery, Russia, 1989; and Sorak International Biennale, South Korea, 1995. Commissions included stage set for Schoolboy Blues, directed by Graeme Harper; Houyuji Buddhist Temple, Tokyo; and Unicef Art Agenda for 1999.
