Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Edinburgh, where remained, studying at the College of Art, winning the Guthrie Award in 1924 and then joining its staff from 1919 for 36 years. He was a fine Colourist as well as being an excellent draughtsman. Moodie was president of the SSA for several years from 1937 and later was secretary of the RSA for a few years from 1959, having been elected a full member in 1952. Also exhibited at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
