Sculptor, born in Cupar, Fife, who graduated with honours in sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, 1985–9, earning a postgraduate diploma from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, 1989–90. Magnus had several residencies, including one at Ibstock in 1997, and while there North West Leicestershire District Council commissioned her to create the glazed stoneware Ibstock Landmark Sculpture, completed 1998 and sited in the High Street. Her other commissions included carved brick wall reliefs for Chinese Ethnic Housing, Hull, 1996, and for Henshaw’s, Conyngham Hall Arts and Crafts Centre, 1998. Magnus was a member of the SSA, with which she showed. Other mixed exhibitions included The New Generation, Compass Gallery, Glasgow, 1990; Scottish Sculpture Open 6, Kildrummy Castle, Aberdeenshire, 1991; and the European Sculpture Symposium, at Gallery Konschthaus, Bien Engel, Luxembourg, 1994, the year she shared a show at Pier Arts Centre, Stromness.
