Printmaker, painter and teacher, full name Hubert Kim Kempshall, signing work K K, who was born in Manchester. Studied at the College of Art there, 1951–5, then Royal College of Art, 1957–60. Went on to teach fine art at Birmingham Polytechnic. Showed RA, RSA, Arts Council and held solo exhibitions. Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and a number of provincial public collections hold his work. Lived in Harborne, Birmingham.
