Edward Owen Griffith [also known as Edward Owen Griffith, E.O. Griffith and as Edward Griffith] was born in Chester, Cheshire, England in c.1869 [1] and was active as an architectural sculptor and stone carver in the UK between the 1880s and at least 1917. Many of his commissions were in Lancashire, particularly Liverpool. These included the New Post Office, the Cunard Building and New Cotton Exchange in Liverpool, and Holy Trinity Church in Southport. Griffith exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool between 1888 and 1912. He also participated in the Art Exhibition of the Royal National Eisteddfod in Cardiff in 1883. He lived in Chester, Cheshire in 1888; Rock Ferry, Cheshire in 1909; and Birkenhead, Cheshire in 1911. He died in 1931.
