Painter, printmaker and illustrator, born in South Shields, County Durham, attending the School of Art there. He travelled extensively through Europe and Russia, served in the Black Watch in World War I, eventually becoming war artist for The Graphic. The Imperial War Museum acquired his painting titled A Ration Party, and the British Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum holds examples. Showed with Aitken Dott in Edinburgh, also Fine Art Society and RSA. Lived in Broughty Ferry, Angus.
