Writer, painter and teacher, born in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. He attended Swansea School of Art and studied English at University College, Cardiff, for three years from 1933. After various teaching jobs he was from 1947–71 head of the art department at Queen Elizabeth Boys’ Grammar School, Carmarthen. Showed Paris Salon, Piccadilly Gallery, Woodstock Gallery and for many years at Royal National Eisteddfod where he won a number of awards. Had several solo shows, including Woodstock Gallery. Among his writings were books on scenic design and stage costume; a number of radio plays in English and Welsh; and Collecting Drawings. WAC holds his work.
