Painter and Church of England priest, born in Ouse, Tasmania, his father also an ordained minister. After his mother’s early death, was taken to England by his father and was brought up by two maiden aunts. Studied at Oxford University and in late 1920s at Slade School of Fine Art, where William Coldstream was a close friend. Supported by a small private income, Dicker continued to paint until World War II, showing at East London Group Lefevre exhibitions, NEAC and elsewhere. Had long been interested in religion and in 1942 was ordained in Leicester. Eventually became vicar of South Stoke, near Bath, in 1948, where he remained for 18 years, then retiring to Wells. Is buried at South Stoke, Somerset.
