Prolific figurative printmaker, painter, lecturer and writer, born in Kent but educated in Scotland. Living in Dunlop, Ayrshire, she developed an interest in wild plants. Graduated in wood engraving at Glasgow School of Art, where theatre became an enthusiasm. These twin interests were reflected in her work. Mixed exhibitions included SWE Open, from 1976; RE Open, from 1978; Printmakers’ Open, from 1987; Edinburgh International Festival, from 1988; Chaucer Society, from 1989; RSA Open, from 1992; National Print Open, from 1995; and The Garrick/Milne Prize, Christie’s, shortlisted, 2003, where she won a Commissioning Prize. Among her many solo exhibitions were latterly Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow, 1993; Upper Waiting Hall, House of Commons, 1997; County Hall Gallery, Chelmsford Cathedral Festival, 1998; and Dorset County Gallery, Dorchester, 1999.
