Painter and teacher, born in Hay, Herefordshire. He attended Farnham Grammar School, Surrey, then studied at the School of Art there under Otway McCannell, 1931–3; Malvern School of Art with Victor Moody, 1935–8; and Birmingham School of Art, 1938–9. Showed at RA, RBA, NEAC and elsewhere and lived in Marple Bridge, Cheshire.
