Part of the Watt Institution, the Watt Library is the main local history and genealogy library for Inverclyde with holdings including census returns (up to 1901 only); old parish registers; valuation rolls; official records from Inverclyde Council and the former burghs of Greenock, Gourock, Port Glasgow and Kilmacolm; maps; photographs (available at the McLean Museum); industrial records relating to local companies etc.; newspapers, including new NEWSPLAN 2000 titles available on microfilm; and special-interest collections.
